New Year, New Goals

Wow! It’s a new year. I’m sure the majority of blog posts today are about the new year and your personal and professional goals. Well, I’m not one to buck tradition. 😉

This year is the year of the writing community for my professional goals. I will be finishing up my manuscript, querying, writing some more, the coordinator of an RWA writing contest (so nervous about that!), building my brand (new website), more consistent with blogging, and continuing my involvement with my various writing groups (both online and local). My personal goals are far less lofty, but still very important. Eat clean, be more active, and do more activities with my children (Games, reading, zoo, aquarium, etc. We’ve been far too big of homebodies as a family.)!

I have been a spectator of my own life for far too long. It’s time to be a participant. One of the ways I’m going to track these goals is with the Passion Planner. I just heard about this planner a couple of weeks ago and fell in love with it. I enjoy seeing everything itemized and easily checked off. Plus with the addition of weekly and monthly goals staring at me from the page, I’ll be sure to always have them fresh in my mind. With new small goals every week, I won’t be overwhelmed and discouraged. Baby goals which lead to the big goals. :)

So I guess you can say that I’m putting this out there on the interwebs to keep me honest and focused! What about you? What are your personal and professional goals? How are you going to stay on top of them and keep moving forward with your goals? How will you stay accountable? Thanks for stopping by and happy new year!

Happy writing! ~Jen
